Music and The Brain!!

I wish you all are happy and safe at your homes!! Today my topic is "Music and The Brain" and in this article i will be writing about how just a recorded music can completely boost up our moods, makes us feel better and also we will talk about some benefits of music.


Music is a expression of emotions through harmonic frequencies. Well if someone ask me to define the role of music in my life, so i will just say that it completes me. I always give minimum half an hour of my schedule`s time to music, because it really heals me when i try to reduce my workload. Not only in me, music has played a important part in every human culture, at both past and present.

How music affects our brain??

Research indicates that music encourages emotions through specific brain circuits. As we can clearly see the connection between the music and the brain, when the music plays; our brain automatically starts reacting to that music and we starts enjoying it. The following ways by which music affect our brain are quite heady because to understand this deeply, we need to study psychology properly. But don`t worry, i have tried to write in a way that you guys can easily understand it better.

So, the music affects our brain by different ways and paths but i have written some peak points that may help you to easily understand the concept. So, lets start!!


1.) Listening to music can create strong emotions, which increase the amount of dopamine( It is a neurotransmitter, one of those chemicals that is responsible for transmitting  signals between the nerve cells(neurons) ofthe brain. We often feel emotions are come from our heart but a main part of emotional stimulus is communicated through the brain.

2.) Another powerful way that affect the brain is brain wave entrainment(Brainwave entrainment is a method to encourage the brain into entering a specific state by using a pulsing sound, light, or electromagnetic field). Music affects the brain by entraining and to move it on a more relaxed state. Where we can become more focused and attentive and can increase our cognitive abilities. 

3.) A pioneering study revealed that chanting the word OM  could engage the area of the brain that is associated with calmness and a sense of inner peace. FMRI( Functional MRI) were used to scan the brainwhile people chanted different sound and syllables, including "sss" and "om". While in result, chanting the sound of "sss" showed no benefit, but chanting "om" activated the area of the brain associated with a sense of peacefulnesss.

Here are the Benefits of listening music:

1. Release Stress: Stress tends to begin when you are not able to manage your self and you have loads of office work and household responsibilities and you are just thinking and overthinking about to overcome these challenges easily. The music is well known for reducing workload and stress of an human being. It helps the person to concentrate more on music instead of thinking about workload and stress. Just give minimum half an hour to the music, you will definitely grab the benefit of music.


2. Makes you More Happier: You will automatically starts loving your life and become the happiest person in this world if you make your playlist, your own buddy. Music really really helps in getting positive and happy vibes even at that time when you need it the most.

   

3. Improves your Workout: If you are working out with a good music, you will be automatically able to feel that your number of sets and exercises are improving and increasing. Yes!! the music can be said as very beneficial in building your motivation.


4. Sleep Better: Have you ever chose music when you are unable to sleep. Music calms the mind and it stops all the hustle bustle in your mind and keep you relaxe. Usually people opt for very slow music while sleeping because it is more effective than others. You might have seen, when small kids are unable to sleep, their mom or grand mother used to give them a slow lullaby and make them sleep. Now you can make sense that the therapy of music can work at all ages.


5. Music improves Memory: Music helps you in getting a good memory. As it is found that music induces a state of meditation and it completely relaxes your mind. So this affect our brain in a way that it can become more free from debris and more free from confusions and hence, it perform its functions more effectively.


So friends these were the connections and benefits of music with the human brain. Also guys make a note that there are lots of challenges in our life but you don`t need to feared by that. Just try to make your self happy by doing whatever you like. Also give some time to music from your busy schedule and trust me you will automatically starts feeling that your loads are nothing.
